Game Makers Mela 2026

The MELA

Game Makers' Mela is the grand finale of Game Makers 2026, a nationwide tabletop game design initiative by the Unboxed Board Game Club.

After months of designing, mentoring, prototyping and playtesting, Game Makers' Mela brings together India's most promising new tabletop games under one roof.

Held over the Independence Day weekend, the Mela is a celebration of the Make in India spirit - not through products already on shelves, but through ideas, stories and games waiting to become the next generation of Indian tabletop experiences.

22 CONTESTING TEAMS

An eclectic, big-hearted crew from every corner of the country, many of them stepping into a game design contest for the very first time, with their mentors cheering (and guiding) them on.

The Themes

Vallamkali - a game by Mozaic Games

FESTIVALS

Ticket To Ride India

JOURNEYS

Boitas - A game by Kheo Games

TRADITIONS

From festivals to daily journeys, from traditions to the beautiful madness of Indian city life — our first cohort of entries is a love letter to everyday India, told through dice, cards, and clever mechanics.

Different topics, different corners of India, one shared mission: bringing India’s stories to a bigger table — literally.
